Technical Analysis from Shiv:  “I used to hate on BMW superbikes.  Too easy to ride.  Not enough passion.   But at that time, I was struggling to keep up with them on the racetrack.   My Italian track bikes had all the flair and drama you could ask for.   But they were a handful to jockey around the track compared to the bikes from BMW.   Over the last several years, I’ve tuned most of the AFM race-winning S1000RR/M1000RR race bikes here on the West Coast.  But it wasn’t until a customer dropped off his brand new M1000XR for tuning and then told me to ride the bike (for the two weeks while he was on vacation) did I realize how wrong I was.  I learned that there is nothing boring about riding something that was comfortable, high performance AND exploitable.  It just opens up a new level of enjoyment.   A couple months later, I bought my own and humbly changed my stance on BMW motorcycles.   Once remapped to eliminate all the throttle limitations, stingy closed loop fueling strategies and partial throttle rough spots, these bikes are simply incredible.   They are delightful to tune (and ride).   My OFT Stage 1 tune (to be used on an otherwise stock bike) will make you appreciate what a masterpiece the motor is.   Responsive.  Easy to modulate.  Ballistic when you want it to be.  There are even two OFT Stage 1 variants.  One that keeps the stock exhaust servo valve mapping for a reasonably quiet exhaust note when riding casually but then getting louder and you unleash all the power.   And another Stage 1 variant that keeps the exhaust servo valve open for a more raucous experience.   Both make the same power but offer a very different experience.   And then there’s the OFT Stage 2 tune to be used in condition with a full racing exhaust.   This set up is ideal for those who live on race tracks (like all of our AFM racer clients).   Expect an additional 5-10hp over the Stage 1.   But also exhaust a louder exhaust note and some dramatic pops and flames during over-run.   All these Stage tuned files are included with the OFT.  And all future tune file revisions are free as well.”

Tuning Freedom

With auto-generated tuned maps files for your vehicle, there is no need to connect the OFT to a laptop ¹. After installation, you select the map that best suits your level of modifications and select the file you want to write to the ECU using an iPhone/Android phone app.  All our off-the-shelf (OTS) maps are developed and thoroughly tested by our experienced in-house ECU calibration team. These maps will safely provide substantial power gains and improved ride-ability.

The OFT v3 is also capable of flashing multiple vehicles.   Each additional vehicle license can be purchased for $300 each and can be purchased HERE.   With the additional vehicle license, the OFT can be erased and installed on another vehicle.   However, the OFT will no longer be associated with the first vehicle so it’s important to make sure that the tune file that was last written to that vehicle is suitable for long term use.
